Cloaky is a macOS app. We designed it to work locally on your device and to collect as little information as possible.
Overview
This Privacy Policy explains what information Cloaky may process, how that information is used, and what choices you have when using the app, the official website, and related support services.
By using Cloaky, you agree to this Privacy Policy.
Information We Collect
We do not collect your files, window contents, screen contents, or personal documents.
We may process the following limited categories of information:
- Basic purchase information provided by Apple for in-app purchases, such as transaction status and entitlement status, so we can unlock your one-time purchase correctly.
- Basic app diagnostics, crash logs, or error reports if they are provided by Apple or you voluntarily send them to us for support.
- Messages you send through support channels, including the information you choose to include in those messages.
App Permissions
Cloaky does not request Accessibility permission.
Cloaky does not request Screen Recording permission.
If a future version of Cloaky introduces additional system permissions, this Privacy Policy will be updated before or when those changes are released.
How We Use Information
We use limited information only to:
- enable and verify your one-time in-app purchase through the App Store;
- maintain app functionality;
- diagnose crashes, bugs, and support issues; and
- respond to customer support requests.
We do not sell your personal information.
We do not use your information for advertising.
Data Storage
Cloaky is designed to work primarily on-device.
Any settings you configure inside the app are generally stored locally on your Mac unless a specific feature clearly states otherwise.
Purchase processing is handled by Apple through the App Store and its in-app purchase infrastructure.
Third-Party Services
Cloaky relies on Apple services for App Store distribution, payment processing, and purchase validation. Your use of those services may also be subject to Apple’s own terms and privacy practices.
If you contact us at support@cloakyapp.com, your email provider and ours may process that communication according to their own privacy policies.
Data Retention
We retain information only for as long as reasonably necessary to:
- provide support;
- comply with legal obligations; or
- resolve disputes and enforce our agreements.
If support information is no longer needed, we will delete it within a reasonable period unless we are legally required to keep it.
Children’s Privacy
Cloaky is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
International Users
If you use Cloaky outside your home country or region, your information may be processed in the countries where Apple, your email provider, or other essential service providers operate.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will post the updated version on this page and update the “Last updated” date above.
